When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it. -Galatians 6:10a (NCV)

My mom is here visiting for a few weeks and although she is playing the grandma role really well, she is also working with Chantal, our foster daughter, on her English.

Thanks Mama Lynn!

Omri and I spent a littel 2 weeks break in Ohio this past month.

He got plenty of loving and wore long sleeves for the first time in his life!

Odessa was bribed with a new scooter so mommy and Omri could leave for 2 weeks!

Here is Chantal, Odessa and Ayi (former foster child) on Palm Sunday on our way to church.

I am so proud of the above women! This is my favorite part of my job. I could so do without the computer work, monthly reports and phone calls...but this...this is the highlight of my job. Working with these mothers, listening to their dreams and struggles and teaching them how to budget to run a small business.

One of these ladies has been physically abused in her home for years. One has given her child to a friend to take care of because she doesn't have the money to take care of him. Another borrowed money from a bank here and defaulted on the loan due to an illness and now is trying to climb out from under that debt.

They all 3 completed Invest Hope's training program this weekend for our microloan program.

Built into this program is God's word and how He cares for each of us. How children are a blessing from the Lord. How he is the God of Second Chances lavishing us with Grace.

Smiling for a picture is not normal for adults in Haiti. But these women stood tall and proud for their picture yesterday.

My prayer for these women is that the microloan they received give them more then cash in their pocket. I pray it gives them HOPE.
I pray it gives them choices.
I pray the love shown in this program reflects God's love.

We bought a projector and used it for the first time this weekend. We have been borrowing a projector from other ministries and now are excited to have our own! We showed a nutrition video in Haitian Creole and one about dental care.

We show a movie out in the village once or twice a month. These are wildy popular since most people there do not have electricity or TV.

Above are picture of the Invest Hope land.
Before and after.
We have been using local young people to clear it.

Yes, I am still here. Long time no post. I used to blog on here every week or even more than that. Now, I am a mother to 2 kids (one of whom doesn't sleep!) and working full time. Before I was in this  position I would have read that last sentence and said, "Get it together Ginny! Really you don't have time to blog? How long does it take anyways?"

But now that I am living that sentence, I have a new respect for motherhood!

Lots of good things have been happening with Invest Hope.

The first is that we received our 501(c)(3) status! Licking Valley Church of Christ, my home church in Ohio, has been graciously helping us up until this time. We are so thankful to them for all the additional work they have been doing on top of their own work to help our mission.

The second piece of good news is....

We bought land!

Invest Hope now owns half and acre of land in Peredo. It is undeveloped, as you can see pictured above, but we are thrilled!

We are praying asking the Lord how He would have us use this land and also having a community committee share their thoughts in what they would like to see the mission do in their community.

So please be praying for guidance and direction for the Invest Hope board and the people we will be serving in the Peredo community!
